How I Embraced Makeup Free Skin at 38
Acne, wrinkles, dark spots, lack of eyebrows/eyelashes are just a few of the wonderful things that happen as we age. This makes it increasingly necessary to layer on makeup every day. Of course, this can exacerbate the issues and create a never-ending cycle of concealing and covering. In turn, creating even more problems we need to cover up. As a mom of 3 girls, finding time to get ready daily is laughable. Equally so, the idea of makeup free skin used to give me anxiety.
Luckily, I’ve found some incredible products and services that, used together, have allowed me to feel confident for the first time (at almost 40) in makeup free skin. I’ll be posting a miracle product or service weekly. I hope you find some useful information and bring that sexy back Mama!
I buy this product in bulk and put it on my face, neck, chest, tops of my knees and the tops of my hands.
Roc Retinol Deep Wrinkle Nightcream is one of my all-time favorite anti-aging products. It is a hard-hitting but mild retinol lotion. This over the counter product smooths fine lines, fades sun spots and evens out texture. Because of the quick and consistent results, I’ve been using it religiously for about 5 years now.
Refrain from using this product for a few days before being exposed to direct sunlight. Always use sunscreen when using any retinol product!
This product is mild enough for every day use. I layer it on before my moisturizer in the evenings. Word to the wise: Skin is pretty sensitive to sunlight while using this product, even while wearing sunscreen.
